Born in 1862 in San Benedetto Po, apparently he had no relationship with Giuseppe Ceruti, who lived in the same place during the previous decade. Initially registered as a student, he spent a period in Milan and then moved to Marcaria, in the western part of the Mantua area, where he died in 1916.
His production is quite rare and influenced by the style of Stefano Scarampella, whose Balestrieri model he imitated; the head is also Mantuan in taste, while the F-holes are more open and with large rounded notches.
